I did the boudoir session because I was finally marrying my best friend. He and I have been together for almost 6 years, and finally had the opportunity to get married this year. This was a way to keep our relationship alive and interesting! This was an awesome gift for him on our wedding day prior to our first look. This placed a little excitement and humor into our first look for the both of us!
I have never been the type of lady to put my self care as top priority. As I was prepping for the session, I realized how much happiness it instilled into me when I was putting myself first before anyone else. This session allowed me to find happiness within myself and for myself. It allowed me to recognize the beauty I have. My attitude was happier overall also.
After I signed up, I was nervous about getting everything done. I know I had a hard time putting money and time aside for myself. After I began the process of it and realized how happy I was becoming after performing self-care, I realized it was worth it. This would be a habit I would need to perform even after the session. I worked off of Kristen’s checklist and I knew I had everything in place for the shoot plus more.
The scariest part for me was the choice of outfits. I ended up ordering way more than what I needed. I thought this would be a waste of money, but it ended up being an advantage for my husband and mine relationship after he seen the pictures. It is ok to pick and choose from 1 outfit and another to create your own look also. Don’t forget to put creativity into these outfits, and you will not regret it!
I am seeing that I am more happy with life now that I have realized self care is so important. I realized how beautiful I was after doing this shoot. I also told my husband it was scary how natural this shoot came from me once I got to the studio. It was such a life changer for me and my family..
